Sanding System
1、System Functions
1）The sanding system sprays specified amount of sand between wheels and rails during emergency braking, sliding or spinning of rail vehicles to increase the wheel-rail adhesion coefficient and assist braking.
2）When vehicles operate in adverse weather conditions such as rain, snow or icing, or on uphill and downhill sections, the sanding device is activated during emergency braking (or service braking) to increase the adhesion coefficient and improve braking efficiency.
2、Operating Principle
Compressed air is blown into the negative pressure sanding device to generate negative pressure inside the device. Under the pressure difference between the inside and outside, sand particles are blown onto the rail surface through the sanding pipe, thereby increasing the adhesion coefficient and assisting braking.
